I seek to uplift and uphold the importance of excavating, acknowledging, honoring and preserving my ancestral roots through an African Diaspora movement perspective and vocabulary. My main objective is to support the life-long journey of self-discovery and understanding of the human experience through a multitude of layers including culture, spirituality, healing and education. My movement approach and vocabulary is derived from my diverse training in several contemporary and traditional modern styles, Salsa, Olujimi, Afro Cuban and various West African dance techniques. I believe in using the transformative and healing qualities of dance, to continue uplifting the human experience while simultaneously create space for collective thinking. This is so we can strategize and find solutions that will promote healing, restoration, empowerment and liberation for disempowered communities.
